One of the things I like most about autumn is baking. I have a sweet tooth to rival any, and it's one of the big challenges I have in the battle of the bulge. It comes from my mother and my grandmother, this love of making breads and pies and cakes and cookies.
I have two big faves to bake in the autumn, and chocolate chip pumpkin cookies are one of them. I baked a huge batch tonight (about five dozen cookies) that I'll be getting to friends in the coming days. It's probably the best part of baking: sharing the baked goods with friends and family.
Recipe after the jump >>
1/2 cup softened butter
1 1/2 cups sugar
1 egg
1 1/2 cup canned pumpkin
1 tsp. vanilla extract
2 1/2 cups flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 tsp. nutmeg
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 1/2 cup semisweet chocolate chips
Cream butter and sugar together until light and fluffy. Beat in egg, pumpkin and vanilla. Mix and sift flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, nutmeg and cinnamon. Add to creamed mixture and mix well. Stir in chocolate chips. Drop onto baked cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 13-15 minutes.
I know this if off topic but I'm looking into starting my own blog and was wondering what all is needed to get setup? I'm assuming having a blog like yours would cost a pretty penny? I'm not very web savvy so I'm not 100% positive. Any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated. Cheers

You have to "reframe" these things. Hmmm...With pumpkin in them, these cookies are actually health food.
See, that wasn't so difficult, was it?
