Liberals blame Bush for Katrina

This is the best. A bunch of Lefties are now blaming President Bush for Hurricane Katrina. You can't even BELIEVE it until you read it. The delusional one over at AmericaBlog is actually saying that Bush may have been slow to respond because there are too many Black people living in New Orleans.

I expected the Crazy "Christians" to blame the gays and the drug-infested circuit party Southern Decadence. And, to be honest, I half-thought that some Libbys would find a way to blame Bush. They have.

According to them, Bush ignored warnings from four years ago that a big hurricane could hit New Orleans. DUH!!! I could have told Clinton, Bush I, Reagan, or even Carter (I was seven) that. When you build a city UNDER SEA LEVEL, don't blame the guy who happens to be sitting in the Oval Office because a hurricane destroys it.

Last September, New Orleans got hit by Hurrican Ivan. Stories in many mainstream media outlets before it hit were talking about how Ivan coulod have turned New Orleans into a "modern day Atlantis." Did people learn from that? Nope. They decided to stay in New Orleans and try to "ride out" the hurricane, despite evacuation orders.

Yet, Bush is to blame for people staying, for houses being destroyed, and for what we all KNEW could happen happening. Are they kidding??

Unfortunately, no. They're not kidding. They're serious. Thank you God, for not letting these people take the White House last November. THANK YOU!!

Have you ever considered about including a little bit more than just your articles? I mean, what you say is important and all. However imagine if you added some great photos or video clips to give your posts more, "pop"! Being of the liberal bent I do not consider leftie an insult. It is however a buzz word used by those on the right. Just like those of us on the left use terms like wingnut for Extreme Right Wing, or the ever popular radical right.

They are just words used in politcal debate.

It would be nice to see real debate without sounding like a TV pundint and avoid using buzz words.

that's an interesting position and again a blanket remark...that liberals consider anyone who doesn't agree with them to be brainless. So I suppose I'm just a classic liberal chick, huh? I actually deeply value our right to disagree and I enjoy a spirited political discussion. I don't think that conservatives are brainless or anything like that. But I'm glad my remarks entertained you today. I still maintain that the tone of your original post was one of condescension towards liberals.

Actually, as I think more about this, I would have to say that I am grateful for conservatives (what would be the nickname--"Connies"?)--I see so much political apathy that it pleases me to see anyone taking an interest and educating themselves and forming opinions, whether or not I agree with them.

The only issue you could address in my first comment was my problem with your use of "lefties." You couldn't debate the point I was trying to make--that the problem liberals have is with Bush's cuts of flood-control funding.

If you're going to lay out a blanket insult ("Lefties"), why don't you get the full story first. Liberals are not blaming the President for the hurricane--we're pointing out that he CUT flood control funding in an area that already poor, to pay for his war games in Iraq.
