For those of you, like me, who shrugged their shoulders when the iphone craze his last year, and who are yawning at the renewed craze over iphone 2, your patience and lack of enthusiasm is about to pay off. Google has been working for a couple years on not just a Google phone, but a whole operating system for phones. They call it Android.
They recently did a little demonstration of their latest prototype. It blows the iphone away. The biggest reason: It's open-source, meaning anyone can develop applications for it and implement those applications (kind of like facebook); The iphone is closed-source, meaning Apple controls it. Their latest prototype has Pac-Man, Google Maps, GPS, and an absolutely amazing feature that you can see at the end of this video. I won't spoil the surprise:
