Ongoingness
I'm going to write an "I'm back" post later today, but I just had to jump into this one. Believe it or not, "ongoingness" is a word in Merrriam-Webster's online dictionary. It's like they've waved the white flag and everything is a word now. Harrumph.

Hey, welcome back!
Unlike France that has a committee to decide what's a word, and what's not, in our dictionaries, it's usage that makes the determination. As English is not a "dead" language, new words are created all the time as we add affixes to existing "base" words. It's all good!
