Envision a rustic cabin in a quaint town in Southern Vermont. Imagine a light snow through most of the day, clearing up just in time to let the sunset show. Imagine live turkeys running around the back yard, scratching through the snow in search of corn and seeds.
That was my Thanksgiving this year.
We spent it with my grandparents at their cabin in Townshend, Vermont. It's about 30 minutes from Massachusetts and about 15 minutes from New Hampshire. The closest major "city" is Brattleboro (population: 8,300), but the closest semi-known spot is Grafton. Grafton Village is the quintissential Vermont town, complete with covered bridges, a great cheese shop and trees and hills and streams galore.
